North Carolina Casino Cleans Slots to Avoid Virus
Workers at the Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Hotel in Cherokee, North Carolina are working hard to maintain a clean casino. Workers are trying to fight a virus that has already made almost two hundred and fifty people sick.To combat the virus, workers at the casino are cleaning the three thousand plus slot machines with a bleach and water mix every two hours. An outbreak of the virus began on January 12th and has caused intestinal problems which include diarrhea and vomiting.
Workers are also cleaning the restrooms, door knobs and escalator handrails on a more regular basis. Charles Pringle a spokesman for the casino commented that the problem is a norovirus that can affect cruise shops and schools.
The increased cleaning by the casino should help alleviate the problem. However patrons should continue to wash their hands frequently and it might be a good idea not to visit the casino if you are feeling unwell or have been around someone who has been exposed to a virus.
